SB 81 authorizes the Department of Public Safety to act during a state of invasion or imminent danger on the Texas-Mexico border. It permits personnel to detect, deter, repel, and prosecute individuals attempting to unlawfully enter Texas, return individuals apprehended near the border to Mexico, enhance inspections at ports of entry, and use force against known cartel operatives.
