SB 828 enhances support for offenders with intellectual or developmental disabilities under the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. It requires the development of person-centered reentry and reintegration plans, including community resources for treatment, housing, and transitional services. Funds for residential housing assistance cannot be used for offenders convicted of certain violent offenses.
