SJR 65 proposes a constitutional amendment to legalize and regulate sports wagering in Texas. It authorizes the legislature to allow betting on sporting events, but only through specific entities, including professional sports teams existing as of January 1, 2025, sports organizations that held professional golf tournaments in Texas before that date, and class 1 racetracks operating on that date. The amendment would be subject to voter approval in the general election on November 4, 2025.
