The Texas House Select Committee on General Aviation will hold an interim hearing on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Room E2.026 of the Texas Capitol.
The committee will examine the condition and capacity of general aviation airports across Texas, including infrastructure and capital improvement needs, transportation access, aviation safety, and opportunities to maximize federal and alternative funding.
Lawmakers will also study barriers to expanding regional air service into underserved markets, workforce shortages and training opportunities, the role of general aviation airports in disaster response, and governance and procurement practices. The committee will consider how Texas airports can improve operational efficiency and prepare for emerging aviation technologies.
Invited and public testimony will be heard.
