The Texas House Subcommittee on State-Federal Relations will hold an interim hearing on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Room E1.026 of the Texas Capitol.
The subcommittee will examine the impact on local governments following the discontinuation of penny production, including whether local governments need administrative guidance to implement the change.
Lawmakers will also study the impact of recent federal postmarking rule changes on access to public services and programs and consider whether additional public education and awareness are needed. Invited and public testimony will be heard.
