Texas has become the epicenter of America’s data-center buildout, and with it come hard questions about grid reliability, water use, the electricity costs borne by ordinary ratepayers, and the tax abatements used to attract these projects. Our coverage asks whether this growth reflects genuine free-market investment or another round of government-directed economic development.
