Biography

Rep. Mark Dorazio is a self-employed Republican who was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2023 to represent House District 122, which encompasses portions of northwestern Bexar County in the San Antonio metropolitan area. For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Dorazio to the House Committee on Homeland Security, Public Safety & Veterans’ Affairs—where he serves as Vice-Chairman of the Subcommittee on Defense & Veterans’ Affairs—and to the House Committee on Human Services.

Rep. Dorazio was born in Derry, Pennsylvania, one of ten children in a large Italian family. He moved to Lubbock, Texas, out of high school and apprenticed in construction under three engineers who taught at Texas Tech University. He and his wife Monica, whom he met in El Paso, have been married for 40 years and have four children and eleven grandchildren.

After moving to San Antonio, Rep. Dorazio and his wife founded Dorazio Enterprises, Inc., a construction company they have operated for 38 years, largely as a debt-free corporation. The business began in residential framing and now handles heavy industrial and civil construction for power companies and infrastructure projects in San Antonio and surrounding areas.

Rep. Dorazio has been a member of Lifehouse Church in San Antonio for 23 years, where he has served as an Elder, Council member, and Children’s Sunday School teacher. He has served on the board of The Justice Foundation for more than 10 years and has participated in local and international mission trips.

Rep. Dorazio has served as a Republican Party precinct chairman for more than 30 years and was elected Bexar County Republican Party Chairman for 2017–2018, during which he conducted the 2018 Primary Election and helped plan the 2018 Republican State Convention in San Antonio. He chaired the Bexar County Senate District 25 Convention twice, including in 2020. He has attended 13 Republican Party of Texas state conventions as a delegate, served as the 2020 RPT Platform Committee Chairman, and has represented Senate District 25 for three terms on the State Republican Executive Committee. He was an alternate delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
