Rep. Ann Johnson is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2021 to represent District 134, which covers a portion of Harris County including parts of west and southwest Houston. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston.

Born August 13, 1974 in Houston, Rep. Johnson is the youngest of six children of former Texas State Representative Jake Johnson, who founded Johnson Law Firm PC in 1980, and senior retired District Judge Carolyn Marks Johnson. After law school, she served as a briefing attorney for Justice Leslie Brock Yates of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, then worked as a prosecutor in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office until 2005, where she served as Chief Human Trafficking Prosecutor. She entered private practice with her father at Johnson Law Firm PC, and later was a founding partner of Johnson Martinez LLC. In 2021 she returned to Johnson Law Firm PC. She has been an adjunct professor of law at South Texas College of Law Houston since 2001, teaching courses on voir dire and jury communication, trial litigation, and criminal defense.
For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Johnson to serve as Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence and to serve on the House Committees on Calendars and Public Health (including its Subcommittee on Disease Prevention & Women’s & Children’s Health), as well as the Select Committee on Disaster Preparedness & Flooding. She is married to artist Sonya Cuellar.
