Biography

Rep. Brooks Landgraf is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2015 to represent District 81, which includes Ector, Loving, Ward, and Winkler counties in the heart of the Permian Basin. He earned a B.S. from Texas A&M University and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

A native son of Odessa, Rep. Landgraf comes from a fifth-generation West Texas ranching family and remains actively involved in the family cattle business. His work as an attorney in the energy and healthcare sectors has shaped his approach to public service. A 1999 graduate of Permian High School, he joined the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M, graduating with honors in 2003, and later earned his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2008, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review. He is a proud Eagle Scout.

For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Landgraf as Chairman of the House Committee on Environmental Regulation and as a member of the House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence, where he serves on the Subcommittee on Family & Fiduciary Relationships.
