Biography

Rep. Terri Leo Wilson is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2023 to represent District 23, which covers Chambers County and part of Galveston County along the Texas Gulf Coast. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with undergraduate degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Before her election to the Legislature, Rep. Leo Wilson built a career in Texas public education, primarily serving middle school students with special needs as a teacher, case manager, and department administrator. She previously served three terms on the Texas State Board of Education representing District 6, where she held leadership roles including vice chairman of the board and chairman of the instruction committee before retiring from the board in 2012.

For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Leo Wilson to the House Committees on Public Education and Intergovernmental Affairs, where she also serves on the Subcommittee on State-Federal Relations.
