Committee Jurisdiction
The Texas House Committee on Elections is responsible for overseeing the state’s electoral processes, voting rights, campaign finance, and related regulatory and administrative functions. The committee plays a key role in maintaining the integrity, security, and accessibility of elections in Texas, including primary, special, and general elections.
In addition to reviewing and proposing changes to the Election Code, the committee evaluates election-related activities conducted by the Office of the Secretary of State, and considers legislation affecting voter registration, ballot access, and campaign disclosures.
