HB 2177 allows providers of electronic communications or remote computing services to disclose customer data to government entities in situations involving immediate life-threatening circumstances. Disclosure must be based on a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to prevent death or serious bodily injury. The act applies to disclosures made on or after September 1, 2025.
