HB 2893 allows public junior colleges in Texas to offer up to eight baccalaureate degree programs instead of the current limit of five. It also clarifies that these colleges may offer bachelor’s degrees in applied science, applied technology, nursing, and education if they can demonstrate a workforce need for the programs. The expansion applies beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year.
