SB 2190 creates a voluntary contribution program to fund grants for nonprofit organizations supporting the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). When applying for or renewing a driver’s license or ID card, individuals may voluntarily contribute at least $3 to support DPS-affiliated nonprofits. The funds will be used for programs that assist DPS employees, with contributions deposited in a dedicated state account​.
