SB 2682 introduces civil liability for online impersonation. It defines impersonation as using someone's name, voice, signature, or likeness on social media without consent to harm, defraud, intimidate, or threaten. It excludes satire and parody from liability and allows plaintiffs to recover damages, exemplary damages, and attorney’s fees, along with the option for injunctive relief.
