SB 2916 requires healthcare providers to offer opt-out testing for sexually transmitted diseases when drawing blood for medical screenings. Before collecting the sample, providers must obtain patient consent and inform them about the option to decline the test. Providers must also offer healthcare and prevention resources to patients who test positive.
