Digest
SB 2987 modifies the conditions under which a rental company may void a damage waiver for a rental vehicle. It allows voiding the waiver if the driver caused the damage intentionally, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, was engaged in a crime, or used the vehicle for unauthorized purposes such as towing or racing. The bill also specifies that the waiver can be voided if the renter fails to return the key, report a stolen vehicle within 24 hours, or cooperate with law enforcement.
