The Texas House Committee on Pensions, Investments & Financial Services will hold an interim hearing on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Room E2.012 of the Texas Capitol.
The committee will review implementation of House Bill 201, relating to the Financial Crimes Intelligence Center, and House Bill 3526, concerning financial transparency for bonds issued by local governmental entities.
Lawmakers will also examine the actuarial soundness and long-term financial stability of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS). The reviews will consider contribution levels, projected liabilities, benefit enhancements, employer contribution structures, and the effects of past cost-of-living adjustments and other benefit increases.
