Rep. Charlie Geren is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2001 to represent District 99, which covers portions of Tarrant County in northwest Fort Worth and surrounding communities. A restaurant owner, rancher, and real estate broker, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Born October 22, 1949, Rep. Geren has represented Tarrant County in the Texas House since 2001, initially serving District 89 before being redistricted into District 99 in 2003. With thirteen consecutive sessions of service, he is currently the seventh most senior member of the House and one of the longest-serving Republicans in the chamber.
Beyond the Legislature, Rep. Geren is the president of Railhead Smokehouse, a longtime Fort Worth barbecue institution, and serves as president of the LGS Godley Ranch. He is a principal and founding partner of the commercial real estate firm Kelly, Geren, & Searcy. From 1981 to 1990, he served as a Deputy with the U.S. Marshals Service. He served on the Texas Water Development Board from 1994 to 2000, including five years as Chairman of the Texas Resource Finance Authority, and was previously an elected member of the Tarrant Regional Water District Board of Directors. He is also a trustee of Texas Christian University and Vice President of the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show.
For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Geren as Chair of the House Committee on House Administration — which manages the operations and personnel of the House — in addition to seats on the General Investigating, Licensing & Administrative Procedures, and State Affairs committees, plus the Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting.
