Biography
Rep. Erin Elizabeth Gámez is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2022 to represent District 38 in deep south Texas, which includes portions of Cameron County in and around Brownsville. An attorney by profession, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in Houston.

For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Gámez to four committees: Vice-Chair of the General Investigating Committee, member of the Natural Resources Committee, member of the Transportation Committee, and member of the joint investigating committee examining the response to the July 2025 flooding events that affected Central Texas.
