Biography

Rep. J.M. Lozano is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2011 to represent District 43, which covers Bee, Calhoun, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Refugio, and San Patricio counties along the Texas Coastal Bend. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and his Master’s from the University of the Incarnate Word.

A Kingsville businessman, Rep. Lozano originally entered the House as a Democrat in 2011 before switching to the Republican Party in 2012. He has now served continuously for eight legislative sessions, ranking 20th in House seniority.

For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Lozano to the House Committees on Appropriations — where he serves on the Subcommittee on Article II — and Corrections.
