Biography
Rep. John McQueeney is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, first elected in 2025 to represent District 97, which covers a portion of southwest Tarrant County including Benbrook, Crowley (Part), Fort Worth (Part), and White Settlement. He earned a double major in E-Business and Marketing from the M.J. Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University in 2002.

Rep. McQueeney is a small business owner and entrepreneur. He began his career at RadioShack Corporation, rising from Leasing Representative to Director of Leasing with responsibility for lease renewals and expansion strategies across the U.S. and Canada. He later became a McDonald’s franchisee, training in San Antonio and operating restaurants from South Texas to Fort Worth, before moving into logistics as a FedEx contractor and scaling his fleet to 50 trucks. Most recently, he acquired a group of Chicken Express restaurants across Texas.
Rep. McQueeney serves as an Advisory Director at Austin County State Bank in Bellville. He and his wife Katie live in Fort Worth with their two children, Jack and Sheridan.
For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. McQueeney to the Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting, the House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures, and the House Committee on State Affairs, where he also serves on the Subcommittee on Telecommunications & Broadband.
