Biography
Rep. Todd Hunter is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, currently serving his thirteenth term and representing District 32, which covers Aransas County and a portion of Nueces County. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Speech and Human Relations from the University of Kansas in 1975 and a Juris Doctor from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1978.

Born August 26, 1953 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Rep. Hunter has practiced law in Corpus Christi since November 1978 and is a senior partner at Hunter, Barker & Fancher, LLP. His areas of practice include insurance, commercial, banking, civil trial and appellate practice, and mediation.
Rep. Hunter was first elected to the Texas House in 1988 as a Democrat representing District 36, later District 32, and served four terms through 1997 before retiring from public service to focus on his law practice and his family. In 2008 he was elected as a Republican representing District 32 and has served continuously since January 2009.
For the 89th Legislative Session, Speaker Dustin Burrows appointed Rep. Hunter to chair the House Committee on Calendars and to serve on the House Committees on Land & Resource Management and Public Education (including its Subcommittee on Academic & Career-Oriented Education), as well as the Select Committee on Congressional Redistricting. He and his wife Alexis Taylor Hunter have three children — Todd Jr., Michael, and Christina — and five grandchildren.
