The Texas House Select Committee on Health Care Affordability will hold an interim hearing on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Room E2.016 of the Texas Capitol.
The committee will examine potential improvements to health care delivery systems and emerging financing models that could reduce the cost of health care in Texas. Lawmakers will consider opportunities to encourage flexibility and innovation in plan design while maintaining access to quality care.
The committee will also study options for removing barriers that make it difficult for small and mid-sized employers to offer health coverage. Additional discussion will focus on improving consumer engagement and expanding opportunities for Texans to evaluate the cost and quality of health care.
The committee notice specifies that invited testimony only will be heard, although electronic public comments may be submitted on the posted topics.
